SearchPulse

SEO analytics workspace on your own Google data: Search Console, Analytics 4 and Keyword Planner. Pages, target keywords with search volume, opportunities, snapshots.

Description

SearchPulse is a control center for organic traffic — for SEO and for visibility in AI assistants (GEO) — right in WordPress, under MCG Plugins → SearchPulse. Every tab answers one working question and ends with actions: any alert, keyword, page or opportunity becomes a task with one click, and the task keeps the numbers «before» so you see the result «after».

  • Dashboard — clicks, impressions, position, visibility index, organic sessions and sales; alerts (keyword dropped or left the results, page lost clicks, broken page in Google, target page not indexed); tasks in progress; site changes on the chart.
  • Positions — daily history of every target keyword from Search Console (all devices, mobile, desktop), kept in your database beyond the 16 months Google stores; search volume, visibility index by week, which page ranked when, «another page ranks», top-3 potential, a map page → keywords.
  • Pages — every page from Google with clicks, positions, GA4 sales and HTTP status; the page card shows its queries, target keywords, title / H1 / description checklist, index status, Core Web Vitals and changes. The same appears in the post, product and category editor.
  • Keywords and content — close to the top 3, low CTR, new queries, cannibalization, pages that dropped, lost queries, old URLs; keyword research with Keyword Planner: ideas from words or from any page address (also a competitor’s), 12-month seasonality and gaps.
  • Technical — nightly crawl of the site: site health, sitemap problems, broken and redirecting internal links, titles, descriptions, H1, orphan and deep pages, thin content, alt, hreflang, structured data, slow responses, broken external links; Google index status (URL Inspection API) and Core Web Vitals of real users (Chrome UX Report).
  • Links — internal linking suggestions (pages that mention a target keyword but do not link to its page), internal link map with anchors and click depth, external links and backlinks (Bing Webmaster Tools).
  • GEO / AI — visits and sales from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude (GA4); AI and search bots from the server log, verified against the IP lists published by Google, Bing, OpenAI, Perplexity and DuckDuckGo (fake bots and scanners are filtered out); which pages AI reads for people; readiness of pages to be quoted; conversational queries; robots.txt and llms.txt.
  • Tasks — before / after of every task; automatic change log (content, SEO titles, categories, plugin updates) plus your own notes; snapshots of the whole site.
  • Weekly digest by e-mail.

Works with WPML and Polylang (languages in sub-folders) and with WooCommerce, but needs neither.

WP-CLI: wp search-pulse status | build | targets | gsc | ga | sites | volume | ideas | serp | dfs | snapshot | log.

Privacy: SearchPulse talks only to Google APIs, Bing Webmaster Tools and DataForSEO when you connect them, and downloads the public IP lists of search and AI bots. Keys are stored in the database (not autoloaded) or, with SPULSE_CONFIG_FILE in wp-config.php, in a JSON file outside the web root.

Installation

  1. Upload the search-pulse folder to /wp-content/plugins/ and activate it.
  2. Open MCG Plugins → SearchPulse → Settings and follow «How to prepare Google Cloud»: enable the Search Console, Analytics Data and Analytics Admin APIs, create an OAuth client of type Web application with the redirect URI shown on the page.
  3. Paste the Client ID and Secret, click Connect Google and choose the Search Console and GA4 properties.
  4. Optional: connect Google Ads for search volume (a service account is the easiest), and DataForSEO.
  5. Add your target keywords in Analytics → Target keywords.

FAQ

Does it cost anything?

Search Console, Analytics and Keyword Planner are free. DataForSEO is optional and paid per request; its spend is shown in Settings.

Why are the numbers lower than in Search Console?

Search Console hides rare queries (anonymized), so per-query totals are lower than the site total. The overview uses the full totals.

The site is behind Cloudflare and every URL shows «no response»

Enter the server IP in Settings → Site → «Server IP for URL checks»: the checks then go straight to the server.

Can I send the sitemap to Google from here?

Yes, if the Google connection allows managing Search Console. Connections made with the read-only permission show a hint to reconnect.

Changelog

2.2.0 (2026-10-18)

  • Page types come from the site itself: Home, every public post type and taxonomy under its own WordPress name («Posts», «Pages», «Categories», «Tags», «Products», «Product categories»…), Shop (only with WooCommerce), author and date archives. The type filter on «Pages» lists only types that have data in the period, with counts. Categories and tags of posts are no longer merged into one «Blog category».
  • New «Category or tag» filter on «Pages»: pick any category or tag (with or without subcategories) to see the posts that have it, a summary (posts, clicks, impressions, CTR, average position) and the archive page itself. Works together with the other filters.
  • The filters are kept in the page address (send the link to a colleague) and written into the CSV export.
  • Data, snapshots and tasks saved by earlier versions keep working: old types are mapped to the new ones when read.

2.1.1 (2026-10-15)

  • The «MCG Plugins» menu is now at the top of the admin menu, right under the Dashboard.

2.1.0 (2026-10-15)

  • Gentle crawler: it works in slices of up to two minutes with 3 pages at a time and a pause after every batch as long as the site took to answer, slows down when the site is slow or returns errors, waits while the server is busy. It runs only in a night window (01:00–06:00 by default) for a set number of minutes per night: a small site is crawled in one night, a large one over several, newest pages first. The reports switch to the new crawl only when it is complete. Settings → Schedule: window, minutes per night, speed (gentle / normal / fast), page limit. The crawl no longer runs inside the nightly data refresh.
  • Works with the other MCG plugins: with LinkPatrol active the external link check is not repeated — broken links come from LinkPatrol with a «Fix in LinkPatrol» button; with Linkloom active a linking suggestion can be added to «Read also» of the linking post in one click; 404 Resolver checks bot IP addresses through SearchPulse.
